How Do you Become a Part of RewardStyle?
Before you jump into to learning the steps to take to get accepted into RewardStyle, let go over a few key things first in a little FAQ, shall we?
What is RewardStyle?
What is the difference between RewardStyle, LIKETOKNOW.IT, and LTK?
You’ve probably heard these terms tossed around a lot. RewardStyle is the hub where you gather and link all of the products you want to share.
LIKETOKNOW.IT is the app where people can shop the products you shared. In the LIKETOKNOW.it app, users can search for specific creators/influencers and shop their posts. Users can also search for specific things like white dress and shop posts from the thousands of creators sharing links that match that key word.
Lastly, LTK refers to the newly single branded name of the two platforms to make things more streamlined. At some point, LTK will be what everything is known as and the term RewardStyle will probably phase out. However, as of now, people still know it is RewardStyle so this is how we will talk about it.
How I got accepted to RewardStyle
I thought it would be helpful to share my experience because I think it will give you some hope. I got accepted to RewardStyle with under 200 followers on Instagram with only ten posts. Yup, that’s right. In addition though, I had a blog for six months were I posted twice a week. I barely had a following, but I followed the tips below and I really think it’s what helped me get accepted into LTK.
How long does is take to get accepted to RewardStyle
Everyone is different, and I’m sure more people are applying now more than ever so the timeline may have changed. However, it was less than a week from the date I applied and the dat I got accepted to LTK.
Now for the Tips on How to Get Accepted to ReweardStyle
Have at least 3 Months worth of Content
If you just started posting on Instagram this week, hold off on applying for RewardStyle. It’s best to already have a good batch of content up. This way, you look like you are taking your content seriously.
However, if you post once ever other week, having three months worth of content is going to help you much. But, it you post at least once a week over the course of three months, that’s more like what we are talking about here. Obviously, it’s best to post as much as you can. But, it can be hard to post quality content multiple times a week. So, do what you can and don’t stress about trying to post something every single day.
Post Good Photos
What makes a good photo? There’s a couple of things to keep in mind when taking and posting a photo that will help you get accepted into RewardStyle.
- Clear an crisp images. Make sure your photos aren’t blurry or pixilated.
- If you use a filter or preset on your photos, make sure you are consistent with them. You don’t need to use any at all, but if you do, make sure you are using the same ones for every photo so your feed looks cohesive and flows together.
- Make sure your photos have good lighting. If you’re stuck on how to find good lighting, photos taken outside or in front of a window are always great.
- Keep it clean. You definelty want a sense of relatability in your photos so it doesn’t need to be perfect, but try and remove any mess and clutter before taking your photos. This helps keeps the focus on what is the center point in the photo and not what’s in the background.
- Don’t overthink it. Gone are the days are perfectly curated feeds. If you want to post a selfie then do it. If you want to post 3 outfit pictures in a row and then a picture of your coffee, then do it! Post what feel real to you and roll with it.
Share Shoppable Content
This is easy if you share fashion or home décor content, but it works for other niches as well! For example, if you are a baker, people can’t exactly shop the cupcakes you just made, but they can shop the pan you use or the cookbook you swear by. Whatever it is, RewardStyle wants to see that you share things that can be shopped and be profitable.
Tag Brands
Always tag brands where you can. Tag your outfit, the hotel you are staying at, where your couch in the photo is from, etc. RewardStyle likes to see that your content is shoppable. So for example, if you take a picture sitting on your couch holding a coffee mug, you can tag your outfit, the couch and the mug. By doing so, you are showing people where your products are from so they know where to make the purchase for themselves. This shows RewardStyle that you have the potential to share links and can turn clicks into income.
Focus on Engagement Rather Than Number of Followers
Like I said, I had 200 Instagram followers when I was accepted into RewardStyle. However, my photos were getting decent engagement and people were interested in what I was posting. Focus on this and don’t stress about how many followers you gain and/or lose. Having thousands of followers does nothing for you if no one is interacting with your posts.
Post Like You Are Already Accepted
Probably the best tip I can give, post like you are already accepted. Pretty self explanatory but worth talking about. Whether you’ve applies and been denied or are working on getting your three months of content out there, posting like you’ve been doing this for years is going to help you immensely. Don’t be embarrassed if you feel weird posting like an influencer when the only followers you have are friends and family. Everyone starts somewhere, and the sooner to start posting like you are already accepted into RewardStyle, the easier it will be to actually get accepted.
So, share those outfit posts, show how you styled your living room, etc. Just start sharing what you’re passionate about.
Be Consistent
Consistency is KEY. This doesn’t mean you need to post everyday. But it does mean finding what works for you and sticking with it. If it’s once a day, amazing. If it’s twice a week, fine! Just commit to sticking with a schedule.
When I got accepted into RewardStyle, I was posting once a week on Instagram and twice a week on my blog.
